I am Jazmin J. Johnson, an actress, screenwriter, and 4th-year Business Administration student at THE FLORIDA AGRICULTURAL & MECHANICAL UNIVERSITY.
And blkflmmkr is my baby. Perhaps Friedrich Nietzche said it best when he said, “He who has a why to live for, can bear almost any how.” I’m so grateful to have known my why since I was seven years old. Whether it was applying to Disney casting calls or begging my parents to take me to acting classes, I knew from childhood that I wanted a piece of the film industry. I began to chase after my dreams relentlessly. There was nothing I wanted more than to see my name in a set of credits. Thanks to amazing opportunities to work with Tyler Perry Studios, BET, OWN Network and more, those credits as talent and crew started to roll in. This has aligned directly with my interests in screenwriting, directing, and acting. My professional goal is to create new classics for the next generation.
I'm currently in my last year at Florida A&M and hope that my entrepreneurial background paired with my years of experience as talent and crew on numerous productions will land me an internship/entry-level job upon graduation supporting a team whose mission is to advocate for marginalized voices through film.
